Optician Installation Tips for AEROSTORM Optical Insert

Follow these steps for seamless installation of prescription lenses into the AEROSTORM Optical Insert for optimal performance and comfort:

1. Check PD & H Parameters

Ensure the optical insert is correctly shaped for the Scicon Sports model. After installation, check the pupillary distance (PD) and optical center height (H), especially for progressive lenses.

2. Choose Spherical Lenses

Use spherical geometry lenses for the best compatibility and clarity with the optical insert.

3. Verify Horizontal Alignment

Ensure the optical center is horizontally aligned with the pupil for clear vision.

4. Refer to Existing Prescription

Base the lenses on the user’s regular eyewear prescription for easier adaptation.

5. Consider Vertex Distance

Note the reduced vertex distance when using an optical insert and factor this in when fitting the lenses.

6. Adjust for High Spherical Powers

For spherical powers over +/- 3.00 diopters, adjust for horizontal prismatic compensation and consider the reduced vertex distance due to the frame’s wrap.

7. Compensate for Prismatic Deviation

For frames with a greater frontal wrap angle, adjust horizontal decentration:

• +1.00 mm for negative lenses
• -1.00 mm for positive lenses

8. Verify Lens Centering

Before completing, check that the prescription lenses are properly centered in the insert.

9. Apply AR Coating

Apply Anti-Reflection (AR) coating for reduced glare and improved lens durability.
